An hour. For you.

My primary focus is to improve your confidence, flexibility and fitness in a safe & welcoming space. regular yoga practice enables you to fill your cup so you have more energy to get through the day.

Better Days Yoga was born knowing we can change things for the better, if you believe.

You belong here

Book now for a class. Together, we can fall out of balancing poses, embrace mixing up our left and right hand side and laugh during the moments I may forget during the sequence! I love music and whilst unconventional, I share the joy of music with you as we practice. #yogawithtunes. Yoga is fun for me so this is how I teach- in a casual, relaxed atmosphere where we can support and encourage one other.

Every body is unique and I am committed to meeting you with where you are at with yoga - this may be feeling like you’re not flexible enough, fit enough or young enough. The primary focus of our time together is to improve your confidence and to provide space where you can spend time on yourself to create good routines, sleep better at night and fill your cup so that you have more energy to get through the day.

Providing a safe and inclusive environment to support is of utmost importance - irrespective of age, skeletal variance, level of experience, age, medical conditions, injury etc. Two ways that this will happen is by offering options to “level up” and using invitational language. Making choices about how to move will help you connect with your body and even regain a sense of control which might be lost. By encouraging you to connect with how you are feeling, I hope to impart a sense of warmth, acceptance and belonging.

I am a passionate teacher and so fortunate to be able to merge two things I love - teaching and yoga. Let’s go on this journey together!

About the instructor

Rachel Barnes from Better Days Yoga pursued her love of yoga and her thirst for knowledge at the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching from the Australian Yoga Academy. Rach has also completed four cycles of the ‘Power and Posture Program’ to practise the more complex straight and bent arm balances and explore Ashtanga inspired arm balance transitions.

Rachel is a primary and secondary school teacher. She loves bringing yoga into the classroom in unique ways such as during PE lessons when learning about planes of movement or anatomy or during exams periods where breathing techniques and meditation can be used to manage stress and improve concentration.

Rach is a single mum to two very active children - Annie-May who is eight years old and Zack who is six years old. Both children share Rachel’s love of yoga and are part of her journey. Living in the Beveridge community for the last 10 years, has made Rach grateful for the friendships she has formed and the community spirit which exists in her yoga community.

What our yogis think

Read our reviews and find out why we are rated so highly!

“As someone who has never really done yoga before, I took a lot away from Rachel’s class. The information within the class gave me a greater understanding of why we were performing the movements, and the instructions that were given were clear, concise and knowledgeable.

The tone of the messages delivered was also relaxed and clear which made it a comfortable environment. Yoga is fantastic for people of all ages and I would highly recommend this class.”
